El ginecólogo / My ginecologist

Aunque parezca mentira estamos en 2013 y para no perder la costumbre comenzamos el año con una visita al médico, esta vez esperada, la del ginecólogo. El 2 de Enero tuve mi visita, con la suerte de que mi nefróloga había pedido una resonancia y el médico cuando llegué a la consulta con apretar un botoncito pudo ver que habían mirado mis ovarios y matriz y estaba todo perfecto, sin quistes por ningún sitio y sin complicaciones.


Si a eso le sumamos que hace cosa de un mes que me hicieron el último control, el ginecólogo me explicó que los manchados esporádicos que he tenido durante los meses de Septiembre a Diciembre son normales para una enferma renal ya que al parecer una insuficiencia renal terminal puede provocar alteraciones en las menstruaciones, o bien manchados como yo, o bien que la regla desaparezca por completo.

La buena noticia es que ha dado su visto bueno para el trasplante y a mí me ha quitado una preocupación de encima. Casualmente desde mi última regla no he vuelto a tener manchados.

Y para cerrar bien el año el 31 por la mañana recibió mi marido la llamada de la coordinadora de trasplantes para citarle para sus últimas pruebas, el 29 de Enero tiene que pasar todo el día en el hospital desde las 9 hasta las 6 aproximadamente y hacerse analíticas, ecografías y demás para determinar qué riñón me van a dar a mí y cuál es su estado físico aunque según sus últimas analíticas está fenomenal.

Y yo sigo sin terminar de asimilar que muy posiblemente entre Marzo y Abril comience una nueva etapa para mí. Seguramente porque soy muy afortunada y no conozco lo que es la diálisis y de momento los malestares, las náuseas y el cansancio han desaparecido por arte de magia… he perdido un kilo durante las fiestas, después de haber cogido dos antes de las fiestas… y mi anemia estaba muy recuperada en mi última visita a la nefróloga tras el último tratamiento de hierro…

Después de todo, es un excelente comienzo del 2013.

Can’t believe is already 2013. We ended up the year with a phone call from the transplant coordinator nurse to my husband, to invite him for a hole day in the hospital doing the last checks for the transplant, from 9 to 6 the 29th of January they will be doing a scan and more test to find out among other things which is the kidney they will be giving me. From his last test done a couple of months ago we know he is really healthy what is nice to know.

To keep on with the routine I started the year with a doctor visit, this time Longley expected: The gynaecologic. Thanks to my nephrologist they already had done my MRI scan and he could see in the computer the outcome. It was all clear, no problems and no complications so he did give me the expected go ahead for the transplant and I was really relieved!

He explained that the sporadic bleedings I have been having from September to December are typical for an end stage kidney failure patient and that sometimes women do get them at this stage or even their periods just go missing all along.

For me is still really hard to face the reality that most probably between March and April a new live will begin for me… most probably because I don’t know what dialysis is and never had to go through it. I feel really lucky. To top all this up all the sickness from the last months has suddenly disappeared… no nauseas anymore, or tiredness I feel really good and after gaining two kilos before the festive season I found out on Tuesday I managed to go through Christmas and New Year and lose a kilo.

All in all, It has been an amazing beginning of 2013.
